Associate Global Key Account Manager

About the role:

The position carries global responsibility, a specific requirement is to act freely across geographical borders to manage and facilitate tesa’s Global Key Account related business originating from the defined design locations in direct co-operation with staff in Asia, Europe and the US. The Associate GKAM uses their specialized knowledge to further enhance the company’s practical knowledge about assigned Global Key Accounts, its processes and requirements within the tesa organization in related functions of technical sales, product and market management and R&D. The aGKAM furthermore organizes and conducts international GKA meetings for assigned GKAs (with support of US and EU colleagues) to jointly define priorities and activities to increase business with the account and its value chain. 

What you will do:
  • Management of Global Key Account (GKA) Electronics activities including respective partners in their supply and decision making chain.
  • Design-in of tesa solutions at defined GKA (OEM) design/technology centers, and their respective suppliers (Electronic Manufacturing Supplier (EMS)), Component Maker and Converter. Active global co-ordination of related activities leading to profitable sales regardless of location. Assigned GKAs are subject to change based on market conditions or organizational change.
  • Define product development needs for respective GKA and suppliers, participation in development process and subsequent specifications at design centers.
  • Drive tesa adhesive spec-in at GKA by working with Device Product Design Engineers and Polymer Materials Engineers while aligning and negotiating pricing and supply with Global Supply Managers, Manufacturing Design Engineers, and Engineering Program Managers from Proof of Concept stage through Mass Production.
  • Regular visits to customer design center in California to support spec-in of products throughout the design cycle.
  • Promote tesa solutions for customer applications throughout the customer value chain at tiers and involved converters.
  • Regular visits to value chain in Asia to support the customer design teams and tesa staff during initial build phases. Collaborate closely with relevant tesa staff in Asia to ensure smooth project information flow, with monthly alignment meetings, regular communication, and global sales meetings.
  • Involvement in proof of concept build meetings, early prototype builds and early product design meetings.
  • Identification of up-coming projects and definition of project supply chain (mapping decision making and value chain).
  • Identification of gaps in our product assortments and requirement profiles by writing business cases requesting new products that fill these gaps. 
What you will need:
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Chemistry and/or Engineering or comparable experience.
  • High results orientation and capability to manage complex projects and communication needs independently
  • High level of experience working in industrial manufacturing at OEM or suppliers. Advanced Knowledge of their decision making processes and people, application requirements, and application needs.
  • Min. 3 years sales and account management experience.
  • Willingness to travel on the job domestically and internationally approximately 50% of working time
  • Positive attitude towards proactive communication and networking
  • Intercultural competence and experience with US and Asian culture preferred
