Key Account Manager - Electrical Systems

The Key Account Manager (KAM) develops new business within assigned key accounts for electrical systems in line with the North American and International Marketing strategies. The KAM also has responsibility for OEM value chain management that includes gaining product approvals, spec-in tesa products at OEM designed electrical systems and coordinating all marketing and sales interfaces with the assigned OEM’s value chain.  

Responsibilities:
  • Cultivate long term strategic customer relationships through achieving a deep understanding of the customer's business, delivering electrical systems value solutions and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and advance new business opportunities for electrical systems solutions with OEM and value chain in accordance to the strategic focus and business plan.
  • Develops and negotiates contracts which encompass tesa’s breadth of products and services with assigned accounts.
  • Works with global electrical systems team to develop strategies / pricing for assigned strategic global accounts.
  • Effectively communicate with all organizational levels and cross functional stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Liaison between customer HQ, individual customer locations and sub suppliers to insure tesa products implementation.
  • Collaborate with market management, key account managers both in North America and globally to disseminate account information, activities projects.
  • Prepares presentations, manages customer activities, customer setup and pricing.
  • Reports all sales activities, forecasts, opportunities and other information via company CRM system (SAP).
  • Organize and lead projects driving new product and/or service offerings.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to lead & help bring new products and solutions to the market.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in automotive sales, tiered automotive supplier selling experience is a must
  • Strong understanding of selling concepts.
  • Must have a current, valid driver’s license and Passport (US Visa is a must).
  • Must be able and willing to travel via air/auto 40%- 50% of the time, domestic and international and be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. 
  • Skilled and proficient in use of computers including but not limited to Microsoft products: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Skype and/or MS Teams; as well as ability to use Customer Relationship Management software programs.
  • Experienced in managing an opportunity pipeline of automotive projects within a CRM system.
  • Must be comfortable driving the sales process throughout the entire value chain (quality, sales process, engineering, pricing, etc.) and be capable of developing strong relationships within highly matrixed organizations.
  • Accustomed to working closely with customers along sales cycles of one year or more.
  • Strong understanding of selling concepts and automotive market gained either via experience or education, international account management experience is preferred.
